Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the ScrapNetwork Android app (package name scrapchain.in) and the website https://scrapnetwork.in. ScrapNetwork™ ("we") is a scrap collection, trading, and recycling marketplace. This policy explains what personal and device data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can control it.
2. Data we collect
Account data: name, phone number, email address, role, business name, and business address. Location: approximate and precise device location when you grant permission, used to show nearby scrap, complete pickups, and set your service area. User content: inventory listings, photos you upload, chat messages, ratings, and transaction records. Device data: push notification tokens, app version, and basic diagnostics. Payments: subscription and payout details processed by Razorpay; we do not store full card numbers. Usage analytics to improve the service.
3. How we use data
To operate the marketplace, create and secure your account, verify identity, send OTP and transactional SMS, match nearby inventory and pickups, calculate ratings, process subscriptions, provide customer support, and comply with law. Location is used only for marketplace features you use, not sold, and not used for unrelated advertising profiles.
4. Sharing
We share contact and pickup details with the other party to a trade you take part in. We use service providers under contract: Supabase (hosting and database), AmazeSMS (OTP and SMS), Razorpay (payments), Google Maps (maps), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), and Google Play services. When ads are enabled, Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers per its policy. We do not sell personal data.
5. Storage & security
Data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL + Storage) with row-level security and encrypted transport (HTTPS). Profile photos are stored in the profile-images bucket. Access is limited to operating ScrapNetwork.
6. Children
ScrapNetwork is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
7. Your choices
You may update profile information in the app. You can request account deletion in Settings → Danger zone, or at https://scrapnetwork.in/legal/delete-account/. After a 7-day grace period, personal data is permanently removed. Transaction and trade records are anonymized and retained only as required for legal, tax, and regulatory compliance. Logging in again during the grace period cancels the deletion request.
8. Cookies & web
The web app uses session cookies and local storage for authentication. Third-party maps and ads may set their own cookies per their policies.
